The Yakima City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 4th. Action taken by the Council included: Issuing a Domestic Violence Awareness Month proclamation Amending City of Yakima Municipal Code Chapter 2.24.010 Longevity Plan (non-represented employees) Receiving a presentation regarding preliminary study results for fees related to land use, building permits and fire inspections.
Water line work will result in traffic restrictions on North 16th Avenue between Madison Avenue and Hathaway Street on Thursday, October 6th. City of Yakima is hosting a second Community Action Day to engage, educate, and empower Yakima residents to identify, report and eradicate illegal vandalism throughout their neighborhoods. The Yakima City Council will conduct three study sessions for the 2023-24 biennial budget. The purpose of the study sessions is to evaluate city service levels within forecasted city revenues. The City of Yakima is committed to keeping citizens informed. Budget study sessions will be 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm live in City Council Chambers
Progress on the Miller Park improvement project continues this week with installation of a mosaic mounted on the south wall at Washington Fruit Community Center, 602 N. 4th Street. “We are so appreciative of the Millennium Foundation and its partnership with Tieton Mosaics for creating and installing this beautiful artwork,” said Parks and Recreation Manager
