City of Yakima crews are at work sweeping each day to remove winter gravel from City streets. The street sweeping program began about a month ago. “Due to the severity of the winter, there is more of a sand/gravel mix left on the street after the snow melts,” said Streets & Traffic Manager Joe Rosenlund.
