Franklin Pool is closed today, Thursday, and possibly tomorrow due to unhealthy air quality caused by smoke from wildfires in the region. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) cautions that sensitive groups should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors

The City of Yakima is seeking the public’s help in preserving the natural environment through a survey of current car washing habits. “Anonymous responses to the car wash survey will help the City in future education and outreach efforts regarding the management of wastewater from car washing,” said Communications & Public Affairs Director Randy Beehler.

Lions Pool, an indoor facility owned and operated by the City of Yakima, is closed through Monday, August 23rd, so needed annual maintenance on the pool can be performed.
